Edith Pearl Brown died March 15, 1991, at her home in Meservey, Iowa. She was 84 years old. She was born October 25, 1906, a daughter of Edith (Hodges) and J. W. Nowning.

On July 2, 1926, she married Ellis Brown at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

She was a member of the Meservey Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crocheting and many other crafts. She was “grandma” to all the children who came to her home.

Services were held March 19, 1991, in the United Methodist Church of Meservey, Iowa, with the Rev. Richard Dunn officiating and Grarup Funeral Home was in charge. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Louie (Edith) Kaduce, Meservey, Iowa, and Mrs. Eugene (Ileta) Krieger, of Dubuque, Iowa. Also surviving are one sister, Ruby Amos of Mason City, Iowa; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Frances Henry and Daisy Clark, Memphis, Missouri; and brother-in-law, Alfred Brown, Gorin, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis, on September 24, 1980. Also preceding her were her parents; two sisters and one grandson.
