Phyllis E. Bombella, 87, of 320 S. York Ave., Mason City, died Wednesday, February 4, 1998, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Carl A. Ries officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Phyllis E. Bombella was born January 26, 1911, in Canby, Minnesota, the daughter of William Frederick and Rosella (Carothers) Badker. She married John Bombella in December 1947 at Chicago, Ill. Phyllis grew up in Mason City and attended Mason City schools. She worked at Mason City Tent and Awning for many years, and then worked at Como Photos until her marriage. She enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening and dancing. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include one son of Evansdale; two daughters of Mason City; one grandson of Evansdale; one sister, Calla Cahill of Mason City; one brother, Merle Badker and his wife, Helen of Vesper, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters: Lola Lunde, Marie Stille, and Bernice Hyde; and two brothers: Roy and Kenneth Badker.
