Interment will be in Elmwood-Saint Joseph Cemetery with veterans honors performed by the Mason City Memorial Association.

Eilef was born on April 19, 1915, to Norwegian immigrants Peder and Sigrid (Anderson) Erickson. They returned to Norway in 1921, and then returned back to Mason City in 1925. Eilef was very proud of his Norwegian heritage, and maintained contact with his Norwegian cousins after a trip to Norway in 1991.

Before retiring, he worked as a carpenter for the Mason City School District. During World War II, he served in the Army Corps of Engineers in Europe.

Eilef was a charter member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and used his carpentry skills during the building of the church.

Besides woodworking, he was passionate about fishing, usually with special friend, Beulah Quisling. A highlight of each day was his visit with special neighbors, Jim and Sharon Leppert and Connie and Mark Dempsy.

Eilef is survived by his daughters, Judy (Ron) Davisson, Mary Alice (Mike) Lindquist, Linda (Walter) Enders and special niece Sharon (Lee) Phearman. Grandchildren are: Jeff Sawyer, Peder (Michelle) Davisson, Steve (Tricia) Sawyer, Lisa Davisson, and Marsha (Rory) Evans. Great-grandchildren are: Graham and Collin Sawyer, Sydnee Lindquist, Gretchen and Jonathan Davisson. A brother, Arthur, of Loveland, Colo., also survives him.
