Martin "Marty" David Enabnit was born on Friday, February 15, 1952 in Mason City; Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. He was the son of: Eugene David and June (Martin) Enabnit. Marty attended Nora Springs Community Schools and while stationed in the Marine Corps earned his GED certificate.

Marty was inducted into the U.S. Marine Corps on May 19, 1969, and served his country honorably and faithfully during the Viet Nam era until his honorable discharge on May 18, 1973, moving back to Mason City.

He was united in marriage to Sarah Salling on November 25, 1972, in Concord, Tennessee.

During his life, Marty worked at the I.O.O.F. Home, Globe Gazette, Minnesota Rubber, and Graham Manufacturing all in Mason City. In 1981, Marty and his wife Sarah started their own commercial cleaning service called River City Cleaning.

Marty loved to work hard, and also enjoyed riding bicycles, listening to all kinds of music, and playing video games, but his greatest love and enjoyment was playing with his grandchildren, and spending time with his family. Marty was also noted for having a very positive attitude throughout his life.

Martin "Marty" David Enabnit, age 58, passed away on Monday; July 19, 2010, at his home in Mason City, Iowa.

Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife: Sarah Enabnit of Mason City, Iowa; his children: Joshua Enabnit and his fiancé Kelli Boyington of Mason City, Iowa and Jennifer (Justin) Becker of Mason City, Iowa. His two grandchildren: Noah David Becker and Jaxon Morgan. His mother-in-law: Frances Salling of Polson, Montana. His three sisters: Karen Ruter of Clear Lake, Iowa; Pam (Tom) Rose of Mason City, Iowa and Connie (Dennis) VanNice of Midland, Texas. His brother: Roger (JoAnne) Enabnit of Clear Lake, Iowa; two brothers-in-law: Aaron (Dianne) Salling of Lakeville, Minnesota and Ethan Salling of Knoxville, Tennessee; a sister-in-law: Sharon (Bob) Parks of Polson, Montana as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and a host of friends.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene and June Enabnit; infant sister: Rosemary Enabnit; his paternal grandparents: Dave and Doris (Hanks) Enabnit and his maternal grandparents: Elmer and Laura Martin. May they rest in peace.

May God bless his memory and give strength to those that mourn.

Visitation for Marty will be a private family visitation at the Hogan~Bremer~Moore Colonial Chapel in Mason City, Iowa. A graveside service and military honors for Marty will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday; July 23, 2010, at the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City, Iowa with Pastor Ed Bard officiating. Military honors will be conducted by members of the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association.

The family would like to suggest that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to give a memorial may wish to consider memorial contributions be made to Hospice of North Iowa in his memory.

The Hogan~Bremer~Moore Colonial Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
