April 04, 1996Perry E. Montgomery, 60, of 630 S. Washington Ave., died Tuesday (April 2, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 Fourth St. S.E., with the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, Northwood.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E,. with Moose funeral rites at 7 p.m.
Perry E. Montgomery was born Jan. 21, 1936, in Kiester, Minn., the son of Paul and Alta (Hegeland) Montgomery.
Perry graduated from Algona High School and attended two years at North Iowa Area Community College, majoring in law enforcement.
He was united in marriage to Marian D. Dralla on July 21, 1967, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City.
He was employed by Jensen Sign Company for over 20 years until they went out of business. The last year and one half, he had worked for Cashwise Foods as a cashier.
Perry was an avid camper and woodworker. He was an active member of the Mason City Moose Lodge No. 1328.
Perry is survived by his wife, Marian D. Montgomery of Mason City; his stepmother, Marianne Montgomery of Tacoma, Wash.; a brother, Eugene Montgomery of Sylmar, Calif.; two sisters, Linda (Mrs. Gary) Carberry of Minneapolis, Minn., and Phyliss Bunton of Columbus, Miss.; five sisters-in-law, Janice and her husband, Robert Hall of Manly; Corie and her husband, Richard Rieman, of Clear Lake; Chris and her husband, Howard Shepard of Forest City; Connie and her husband, Danny Buckman of Forest City, and Virginia and her husband, Terry Lowe of Polk City; and three brothers-in-law, Lloyd Dralla of Northwood; Curtis and his wife, Terri Dralla of Skyler, Neb., and Carl and his wife, Laura Dralla of Northwood; mother-in-law, Virginia Dralla of Hanlontown; three half brothers, Lyle Hegeland of Mason City, Dennis Hegeland of Marshalltown, and Gordon Hegeland of Oklahoma, and one half sister, Marlene Delk of Grinnell; one stepsister, Andi and her husband, Larry Kershner of Rochester, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul, and mother, Alta Montgomery; and his stepfather, Gilmore Hegeland.
