January 25, 1996Loren D. Hohenfield, 66, of 1144 First St. S.E., Mason City, died Monday (Jan. 22, 1996) at home.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. David French of First Assembly of God Church officiating.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave.
Loren D. Hohenfield was born Feb. 16, 1929, in Beatrice, Neb., the son of Rudolph and Helen (Runge) Hohenfield. Loren moved to Mason City as a youngster and graduated from Mason City High School.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War for two years. He married Barbara Trevett on Jan. 2, 1954, in Mason City. Loren worked for the AGRI Soybean Plant for 33 years and retired in 1991. He was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hohenfield of Mason City; three sons, Mark Hohenfield and his wife, Phyllis, and Randy Hohenfield and his friend, Angie, all of Mason City, and Terry Hohenfield and his wife, Cindy, of Nora Springs; one daughter, Shawn Luna and her husband, Randy, of Mason City; six grandchildren, Christopher, Laura, Jerry, Jamey, Elsie and Lindsey; seven sisters, Pat Schultz and her husband, Cecil, of Mason City; Lois Berry and her husband, John, of Renville, Minn.; Vera Husak and her husband, John, of Mankato, Minn.; Betty Albright and her husband, Fred, of Clear Lake; Virg Thomas and her husband, David, of Rantoul, Ill.; Sis Redmond and Gerri Bramsen, both of Mason City; two brothers, Sam Hohenfield of Bode and Butch Hohenfield and his wife, Pat, of Rockford, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one son.
