Mason City man struck and killed while fixing a flat tire

One person was killed and three others injured in a two-vehicle crash in northern Iowa’s Floyd County yesterday.

The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. near Nashua. The state patrol reports 21-year-old Zachery Gueller of Mason City had pulled his car onto the shoulder of Highway 218 due to a flat tire.

Gueller was outside the car when it was hit by a pickup driven by 28-year-old Loren Musch of Clinton. Gueller was killed.

Three other people, including an infant, were taken by ambulance to a hospital in Charles City. The infant, who is under the age of 1, is identified as Serina Gueller. The others who were injured are identified as 22-year-old Kennika Gueller of Mason City and 22-year-old Courtney Swessinger of Des Moines.

FOREST CITY — Zachary “Zach” T. Gueller, 21, of Forest City, Iowa, died following a motor vehicle accident on Monday, April 25, 2016.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, at Fullerton Funeral Home, Mason City.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. with a one hour prior visitation on Friday, April 29, at Fullerton Funeral Home. Pastor Rod Hopp from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, Iowa, will be officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In expression of sympathy, memorials may be directed to the Zachary Gueller Memorial Fund, in care of the family.

Fullerton Funeral Home, Mason City, is in charge of arrangements.
