ROCKWELL — Susan "Ruth" Weaver, 77, of 223 Oak St. N., died Monday 23 Nov 1998 at her home.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockwell, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Rockwell. Visitation was held Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Parish Center, Rockwell. Further visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at the Parish Center. There will be no visitation today.

Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Iowa or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in memory of Ruth Weaver.

Susan Ruth Weaver was born 18 Aug 1921, in rural Nora Springs, daughter of William Frank and Alma (Casperson) Paulus. She married Harold Edward Weaver on Sept. 6, 1941, in Rockford. Ruth grew up in the Rockford area. After her marriage, she and her husband moved to the Cartersville area for a short while and then they moved to Rockwell. She worked at the Rockwell Nursing Home for three years and then worked for the Rockwell schools in the hot lunch program for 17 years until retiring in 1990.

Ruth enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, shopping and playing cards with her friends. She loved being with her grandchildren.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Cahill, of Rockwell and Elaine Dorris and her husband, Michael, of Reno, NV; four sons, William Weaver, of Rockwell,; James Weaver and his wife, Carol, of Rockwell; Jerry Weaver, of Anchorage, AK; and Leon Weaver, of Mason City; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Kabrick and her husband, Wesley, of Charles City; six brothers, Tom Paulus and his wife, Mary, of Mason City; Bob Paulus and his wife, Lola, of Charles City; Arlyn Paulus and his wife, Dorothy, of Sedro Woolley, WA; Dale Paulus and his wife, Maxine, of Sedro Woolley, WA.; Dan Paulus and his wife, Lila, of Rentin, WA; and Calvin Paulus and his wife, Donna, of Yakima, WA; one aunt, Marie Gross, of Shreveport, LA.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1982; and one sister, Marjorie Patton.
