Richard Leo "Dick" Logan was born June 4, 1941, the son of Walter R. and Valeria (Scholl) Logan. He graduated from Sacred Heart high School in 1959, and married Jeanette M. Davis on Sept. 7, 1963, in Mason City. He attended Mason City Junior College and graduated in 1964 from Loras College in Dubuque. Shortly after this, he became a Certified Public Accountant.

For 17 years Richard was vice-president of finance for Northwestern States Portland Cement Company. In 1989, he started Richard L. Logan Tax and Accounting.

Richard was past president of the Newman Booster Club and a past president of Central Catholic Elementary School Board.

He also was a past board member of Junior Achievement, Public Health Nurses and the NIAD Community Credit Union.

He was a volunteer for Nora Springs Little League Baseball and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants. He was a member and lector of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Richard passed from this life on July 28, 1996 at Rudd, Iowa.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Walter, in 1984; one grandson, Hunter Logan, in 1995; and his grandparents.
