Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, IowaCharlotte Joan (Logan) Halley, 92, Mason City, died Saturday, June 09, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.
A funeral mass for Charlotte will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302-5th Street SE, Mason City, with Reverend Craig E. Steimel and Reverend Kenneth B. Gehling officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Rockwell. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday with a Catholic Daughters of America Rosary at 5:30 P.M. followed by a Scriptural Wake Service at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126-3rd Street NE, Mason City.
Charlotte's family would like to suggest that those wishing to give a memorial in her memory may wish to consider memorial contributions to Hospice of North Iowa, Good Shepherd Health Center, or to the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Charlotte Joan (Logan) Halley was born on December 16, 1919, in Rockwell, Iowa, the daughter of John Michael and Nora Elizabeth (Schultz) Clark. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from Rockwell High School. She was united in marriage to Donald Logan in Norfolk, VA when Donald was in the service of his country. She was united in marriage to Willard Halley at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Charlotte began her career with the United States Postal Service in Rockwell, and was very dedicated to her profession. Charlotte worked for 33 years retiring from the postal service in Mason City.
Charlotte also did volunteer work for KCMR, Hospice of North Iowa, and Mercy Hospital.
Charlotte enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, and baking cookies, but great love and enjoyment was spending time with family and friends and family gatherings.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason City, former member of Sacred Heat Catholic Church in Rockwell, Catholic Daughters of America, and Mary Magdalene Circle at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Beverly (Richard) Crowell of Mason City, John (Robin) Logan of Iowa City, and Robert Logan from Mason City, and special friend Shannon Albertson of Klemme; grandchildren, Clark (Erica) Crowell, Brian (Amanda) Crowell, Erin (Mike) McKee, Rachel Logan, Samantha Logan, Mallory Logan, Nicholas Logan, Michael Logan Jr., and Tina Logan; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Thompson, Emersyn McKee, Jacob Lewis, Lilly Lewis, Bella Logan and Kennadi Logan; and her very dear special friend, Delores Hudson of Mason City; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members and friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Donald Logan and Willard Halley; her son, Michael Logan; two brothers, Norman and Robert "Jack" Clark; sister, Edris "Tede" Grossman.
