MRS. M. HANLEY DEAD

Died Friday at the Home of Her Daughter

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Hanley were held from the [Sacred Heart] Catholic church at Rockwell at 10:00 o'clock Monday, January 28th, 1929.

Mrs. Mary Hanley, whose maiden name was Mary McNeill, was born in Ballymor county, Galaway, Ireland, May 12th, 1844 and passed away on Friday, January 25th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Dodd, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 13 days.

She was united in marriage to Patrick Hanley, August 15th, 1865. To this union eight children were born, three boys and five girls, two of which have preceded her to the great beyond. Her husband, Patrick Hanley, preceded her in death twenty years ago.

After living six years of her married life in Ireland, she and her husband and three children came to America and made their home in Chicago for two years.

They then moved to Iowa and settled at Sheffield, at which place they made their home for thirty three years. After the death of her husband, she moved to Dougherty, Iowa, at which place she lived for twenty years. On January 8th, 1928 her health became such that she was not able to be up and around so she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. William Dodd, of Hampton, at whose home she was at the time of her death. [While she had a] residence in Sheffield and Dougherty, Mrs. Hanley had endeared herself to a large circle of firends who share in the grief of the family and relatives.

Those who survive her are John Hanley, of Dougherty, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Flannery, of Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. R. J. Richardson, of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; Edward Hanley, of Greene, Iowa; Charles Hanley, of Inwood, Ontario, Canada; and Mrs. W. H. Dodd, of Hamption, Iowa; besides several grandchildren and great grand children.

[Interment was made at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Rockwell, Iowa.]
