KENSETT - Marilyn Dorsey, 82, of Kensett passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Hospice of North Iowa.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manly, with the Rev. Neil Manternach officiating. Burial will be at a later date. [Sacred Heart Cemetery, Rockwell, Iowa]

Visitation will be held at 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015, at Bride Colonial Chapels, 110 Spring St., Manly.

Memorial contributions may be left in Marilyn's memory to Hospice of North Iowa and Humane Society of North Iowa.

Marilyn Dorsey was born on May 11, 1933, in Washington County, Iowa, daughter of Roland and Ann "Lucille" (McNeese) Carter. She graduated from Swaledale High School.

Marilyn was united in marriage to James F. Dorsey on July 19, 1952, in Mason City, and to this union four children were born.

Marilyn was a member Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manly.

She enjoyed collecting cookie jars, tending to her garden, flowers, watching the birds, Redskins football and spending time with family and friends.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Melly Dorsey of Kensett, James "Joe" (Lori) Dorsey of Northwood, Leo (special friend, Teri Horan) Dorsey of Northwood, Shawn (Cheryl) Dorsey of Shreveport, Louisiana.; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brother, Roger (Lynda) Carter of Joice, sister, Barbara Havill of Sheffield.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Dorsey.
