ROCKWELL - Marian G. Cahill, 83, formerly of 411 S. 4th St., Rockwell, died Friday (Dec. 7, 2001) at the USA Healthcare in Mason City.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 305 Elm St., Rockwell, with the Rev. Dennis Cahill and Rev. Leo Riley officiating. Interment will be held in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Marian Cahill was born April 24, 1918, in Cartersville, the daughter of Fred and Carrie (Birdsell) O'Harrow. She graduated from the Mason City school district in 1936 and continued her education at the State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. In 1966 she became Dean Beem's secretary at the Junior College in Mason City. In 1983 she retired from NIACC as an administrative services [illegible]tor.

On Feb. 9, 1939, Marian O'Harrow was united in marriage to Joseph B. Cahill in Cartersville. Marian and Joe farmed in the Mason City and Doughterty area for 10 years. In 1950 they moved to Rockwell. She as a devoted wife and mother.

Marian loved her flowers, music, cats and people. She was a very active member of the Sacred Heart Church as well as an organist at the church for many years. Marian will be remembered most for her friendly and positive spirit.

Marian is survived by her three sons, John Cahill and his wife, Joyce, of Johnson, Rev. Dennis Cahill of Mason City, and Robert Cahill and his wife, Diane, of Arlington, Ill.; one sister, Jean Crowell of Mason City; seven grandchildren, Paul John Cahill and his wife, Sherry, of Cedar Rapids, Ann Thomas and her husband, Jeff, of Des Moines, Joseph Cahill and his wife, [article clipped off, remaining grandchildren are Dan, Ben, Jessica and Todd per Joseph's obituary].
