September 14, 1914 ~ November 13, 1994

ROCKWELL - Joseph B. Cahill, 80, of 411 Fourth St., died Sunday (Nov. 13, 1994) at the Rockwell Community Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockwell. Officiating will be Joseph's son, the Rev. Dennis Cahill, and the Rev. Steve Meyer of Sacred Heart.

Visitation was held beginning at 4 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish Center. A Scripture wake service was held at 7 p.m. Monday at the parish center. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Joseph's name.

Fullerton Funeral Home, Rockwell, is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph was born near Dougherty on Sept. 14, 1914, the son of Henry and Anna (McMenimen) Cahill. He graduated from Holy Family School about 1931. For the next several years he farmed near Dougherty and Mason City.

He was united in marriage to Marian G. O'Harrow on Feb. 9, 1939, at Cartersville. Following his farming, he joined in partnership with his brother in the Reliable Implement-John Deere dealership for many years. Later he was employed s a heavy equipment operator for Cerro Gordo County maintennce.

Joseph was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rockwell Lion's Club, was a past board member of the Rockwell Telephone Association and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Mason City.

Survivors include his wife, Marian of Rockwell; four sons, John and his wife, Joyce, Des Moines; Robert and his wife, Diane, Arlington Heights, Ill.; the Rev. Dennis Cahill, Osage; and Richard and his wife, Lorraine, Rockwell; one brother, Henry and his wife, Calla, Mason City; and seven grandchildren, Paul, Joseph, Anne, Dan, Ben, Jessica and Todd.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Cash; and three sisters, Marian, Lenore and Margaret in infancy.
