MRS. C. C. WATTS DIES

CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. C. C. (Stella) Watts, 85, of 708 N. 5th St., died Wednesday evening in a Mason City Hospital.

Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. The Rev. James F. Delay will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be at Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Friday.

Pallbearers are Marshall Hea Jr., Roman Grosklaus, Carroll Thompson, Arnold Moeller, M. A. Hintzman, Charles Grandon, Floyd Nesbit and Donald O’Neal. The organist will be Roger Claesgens, the ushers, Frank Mullan and T. F. Guthrie.

Born Aug. 24, 1887, at Dougherty, she was the daughter of Peter and Bridget O’Brien Finnegan. The family moved to Mason City where she attended St. Francis Academy. She worked as an operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company several years. She was married to Cecil C. Watts Oct. 27, 1911 at Mason City. They had always lived in Clear Lake.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Mary Jane) Braheny of Clear Lake; a sister, Mrs. Marshall Hea, Mason City; a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969, two brothers and four sisters.

She was a member of St. Patrick Church and a charter member of Catholic Daughters of America.
