L. A. WEDEKING

L. A. “Larry” Wedeking, 70, 210 South 14 St., Clear Lake, died unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 17 at his home.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father James F. DeLay officiating. Interment in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Larry Wedeking was born August 16, 1907 at Clarksville, Ia. the son of Alfred and Clara (Busching) Wedeking. He was educated in the Clarksville Schools and was married to Louise M. (Fank) Wedeking at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Britt, Ia. on June 10, 1933

Their first home was in Cresco, Ia. and came to Clear Lake in 1940. He worked as a salesman for North Co. Equipment Company of LuVerne, Minn. for 14 years. He then sold Life Insurance and Securities for 15 years, retiring in 1974.

Wedeking was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake and a member of the Senior Citizens contributing much work and time to that organization.

Wedeking is survived by his wife, Louise and two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Donna M.) Watson, Clear Lake and Mrs. Norbert (Dorothy J.) Schaefer, Montgomery, Alabama and a son Larry A. Wedeking, Denver, Colorado. There are seven grandchildren and four brothers, Glen Wedeking, San Luis Downs, Calif.; Willard Wedeking, Ocean Side, Calif.; Virgil Wedeking, Fall Brook, Calif.; and Donald Wedeking, Cula Vista, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary pallbearers were Glen Amosson, Leighton Zobel, Clarence Draves, Bob Kuhns, Frank Mullen and Richard Dunn. Active pallbearers were Kevin and Kurt Watson, John and David Fank, Paul Smith and Byron Ruiter. Ward-Van Slyke in charge of arrangements.
