MRS. FRED. (LILLIE) PETERSEN

Mrs. Fred W. (Lillie) Petersen, 85, 312 ½ Main Ave., Clear Lake, died Friday evening at a Mason City Hospital following a short illness.

Funeral services were Tuesday, September 28, at the United Methodist Church, with Rev. Wayne Carlson, officiating.

Interment was in Clear Lake Cemetery. Ward Van Slyke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harry Mason was the organist and Mrs. Donald Kacer was soloist.

Lillie B. (Meinecke) Petersen was born November 4, 1890 near Garner, the daughter of Ferd and Abelina Meinecke. She received her education in Winnebago County and was married to Fred W. Petersen on May 25, 1910 at Forest City, Iowa. The Petersen’s farmed near Garner and Ventura and for many years north of Clear Lake. In 1955 they retired and moved into Clear Lake.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Evelyn Petersen, Lynwood, Calif., and Mrs. Harry (Marilyn) Ralston, LaPalma, Calif.; four sons, Horace, Clear Lake; Mervin, Clifton, Ariz., Dean, El Monte, Calif., and Calvin, Parker Dam, Calif.; one brother, George Meinecke, Forest City, fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

Mrs. Petersen was a member of the United Methodist Church, Tina Rebekah Lodge and the Grandmothers Club.

Pallbearers were Dick Christensen, Chris Axelsen, Allen Meinecke, Edwin Thiemann, Alvin Meinecke and Cecil Meinecke.
