K. PETERSEN, 67, DIED IN HOSPITAL

CLEAR LAKE – Kenneth Nelson Petersen, 67, Ventura, died Friday night in a Mason City hospital where he had been the past three weeks.

Born April 1, 1902, at Miller, he was the son of Andrew and Ella (Nelson) Petersen. He lived on a farm north of Ventura and was educated in the schools of the area.

He was married to Verna Overgaard, Ventura, on July 18, 1925, at Albert Lea. They farmed north of Ventura and near Nora Springs. He later worked in a trucking business. In 1943 he started to work for the Northern Natural Gas Co. and retired in 1966. He had been ill for four years. He is survived by his wife, one son, Donald, Ventura; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Charlotte) Fell, West Des Moines; five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Paul (Nell) Petersen, Clear Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Zion Lutheran church. Pastor Murley Severtson will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 12 noon Sunday in Wilcox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers selected are Clarence Bast, Leo Lallier, Orlan Paulson, Jack Hyde, Marlin Monsen, Donald Ackarman, Gayle Tice, Horace Petersen and Everett Patersen.
