FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN HOSPITAL

Mrs. Clarence Draves, 33, of Garner, and a former Clear Lake resident, passed away at the Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Thursday following an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Methodist church here. The Rev. Carl Smith of Stanhope, and the former pastor of the Christian church at Fertile, conducted the rites and burial was made in the Clear Lake cemetery.

Pallbearers were her five brothers-in-law and a cousin, Arthur Draves, Carl Draves, Harry Draves, Anton Draves, Emil Draves and Harold Draves, all of Dows. Goldie Kirk and Mrs. Cora Overson, accompanied at the organ by Evelyn Ebaugh, sang “Some Day We Will Understand” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus.”

Lilly Warden, daughter of Jennie and Irwin Warden, was born on a farm near Hanlontown April 13, 1907. She attended school near Hanlontown and her mother passed away 18 years ago. Then she went to live with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Warden in Clear Lake. On Nov. 24, 1926, she was married to Clarence Draves and the couple has lived on a farm near garner. Two children were born to this union, Phyllis Elaine, 12, and LeRoy Donald, 6. She was a member of the Christian church at Fertile.

She is survived by her husband and two children. Also her father, a grandmother, Mrs. Mary Stout, three uncles and two aunts. Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Stout and family of Clarion, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Stout of Austin, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Stout and family of Aredale, Mr. and Mrs. George Draves of Fairfield, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schauf of Crystal Lake and his brothers of Dows.
