Mason City - Frances B. Berding, 73 of 619 N. Pennsylvania Ave., died Saturday (August 19, 2000) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City. According to her wishes, funeral services will be private for the family.

Frances Bernice Berding was born November 2, 1926, in Northwood, daughter of Tony and Esther (Thoen) Hruberz. She married Edward Berding on December 1, 1962, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Frances attended school in the Kensett area. In 1944 she moved to Mason City where she worked at Marshall & Swift Cleaners and Belmont Radio Company.

Frances loved planting flowers and taking care of her family. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and Trinity Lutheran Church. Her presence will be deeply missed by everyone, especially her daughter Debra and three grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Debra Nicholson, of Mason City; three grandchildren, Brandon Nicholson and Fallon and Sierra Nelson, all of Mason City; two sisters, Janet Klein and Phyllis Mortenson, both of Northwood; a special friend of the family, Roy Bickely, Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Charles, Ellsworth and Roger Hrubetz; and one sister, Doris Hanson.

Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City is in charge of arrangements.
