A. MARTHA MOFFETT
Anna (Martha) Moffett, 97, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1993, at her home.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday), Sept. 1, at 11 a.m. Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. The Rev. Murley Severtson will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Anna Moffett was born Jan. 18, 1896, north of Mason City in Cerro Gordo County. She grew up five miles north of Clear Lake and attended rural school. On May 8, 1917 she married Elmer Moffett north of Clear Lake. The couple moved to Clear Lake, where she lived in the same house for 59 years.

Anna did the book work at her husband’s business, Moffett and Thompson Garage, in Clear Lake for many years. She loved to garden and help stray animals. She also enjoyed writing letters.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Tin Rebekah Lodge, Navy Mothers and the Star Club-O.D.O. Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Lois, and her husband, Bob Reynolds, Clear Lake; a son, Dean Moffett, and his wife, Virginia, Clear Lake; five grandchildren, David Reynolds, and his wife, Bonnie, Minneapolis, Minn., Laurie Reynolds, and her fiancé, Roger McGargill III, Chandler, Ariz., Jamie Moffett, and his wife, Kim, Mason City, and Carole, and her husband, Mike Rose, Mason City; nine great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Ben Reynolds, Michael, Stephanie, Amanda and William Moffett, and Jason, Anna and Ashley Rose.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976; parents; a brother, Oscar Thompson; and a sister, Ruth Huntley.
