HAYDEE DA MCGRADY

Funeral services for Haydee Da McGrady, 84, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 at the Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel. The Rev. James Delahooke of the United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mrs. McGrady was born April 9, 1895 at Winfield to Jesse and Emma Beckman Elting. The family made its home in Winfield where she received her education. In 1915 the family moved to a farm northwest of Clear Lake and she taught rural in the area.

She was married to Ralph McGrady in Mason City and they farmed in Grant Township for many years prior to moving into Clear Lake. Mr. McGrady died in 1968. Mrs. McGrady had been in a Clear Lake nursing home since June where she died Nov. 26. Mrs. McGrady was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Roelif Elting, Tempe, Ariz.; and Orluf Elting, Rehobeth, Mass.; and one niece, Mrs. Connie Boyne, Alma, Mich.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Loren Elting of Clear Lake in 1975 and by a brother Leo Elting. Her sister-in-law, Neva Elting, Clear Lake had been a close companion to Mrs. McGrady over the past several years.

The organist for the services will be Mrs. Tom Treloar. Honorary pallbearers will be M.A. Arneson, Howard Cash, James Elting, Bill Elting, Orluf Elting, and Ed R. Boyle. Pallbearers will be Ray Hewitt, Robert Grabinski, Robert Cash, LaVerne Lee, Louis Schuler and James Ahrens.
