J. MCGOWAN RITES SUNDAY
SERVICES TO BE AT HOME AT 2:30 P.M.

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for James P. McGowan, 66, who died Friday evening at 11:30 at his home, 806 N. Fifth street, will be held at the residence Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with Dr. Edward W. Day, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake cemetery. Wilcox funeral chapel has charge of arrangements. The Masonic commital service will be conducted at the cemetery.

Mr. McGowan is survived by his wife, Marie McGowan and a cousin, Mrs. Ross Hill, Fertile.

James P. McGowan was born Sept. 13, 1882, at Clear Lake, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry McGowan, Clausen street. He was graduated from the Clear Lake high school, employed in Chicago for a number of years, and owned and operated a tourist camp at Henderson, Ky., for 18 years. Mr. and Mrs. McGowan moved to Clear Lake Sept. 13, 1946, to the old McGowan home, where they have lived since that time.

Mr. McGowan was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Miss Mollie McGowan, who died 3 years ago.

Mr. McGowan had been an invalid for 5 years and bedfast for one year. He was a member of A.F. and A.M. Concord 917 Chicago for 30 years and a member of the First Presbyterian church, Henderson, Ky.
