JACK SHEA DIES; BAYSIDE MANAGER

Funeral services for John J. Shea, 66, who died early Saturday morning, Jan. 15, at his home at Bayside following an illness of two years, were held Tuesday morning, Jan. 18 at St. Patrick’s Catholic church. A requiem high mass was sung by Rev. Richard Murphy, pastor of the Holy Family church, Mason City. Rev. J. J. Buzynski, pastor of St. Patrick’s church, gave the sermon.

Burial was in Clear Lake cemetery. Ward’s funeral home was in charge.

Pallbearers were: George Sheridan, Charles Ritz, Thomas Manning, Sid Halford of Clear Lake; Howard O’Leary of Mason City and L.L. Bless of Ventura.

Mrs. R.A. Monaghen and Frank Mullan sang, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Don O’Neill. Mmes. Roy Schumacher and Thomas Manning were in charge of the flowers.

Mr. Shea has been in the amusement park business for 30 years and took over the management of Bayside Park in 1929. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, July 17, 1877. He attended St. Xavier boys school at Cincinnati until the age of 18.

Besides his wife, Mr. Shea is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Jones and Alice Shea of Cincinnati.

Out-of-town relatives attending the rites for Mr. Shea were: Alice Shea, his sister; Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Powell, Chicago, cousins; Mrs. Shea’s sister, Charlotte Lannon of Kansas City, Kans.
