FORMER BAYSIDE WOMAN, MRS. JACK SHEA, DIES

CLEAR LAKE – Word has been received in Clear Lake of the death of Mrs. Jack J. (Mary Helen) Shea, Wednesday noon at a hospital in Kansas City, Kan. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Kansas City.

Mrs. Shea spent her summers at Bayside Park, Clear Lake, for many years. She sold her house there several years ago.

Her husband, J. J. Shea, operated Bayside Amusement Park for many years. In 1942 he and Howard O’Leary built the second roller coaster. After Mr. Shea’s death on 1945, she operated the skating rink and several rides at the park for a number of years.
