HOLD FUNERAL OF HALVOR LARSON
AGED RESIDENT SURVIVED BY MRS. LARSON, SIX CHILDREN

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Halvor Larson, 81, who died suddenly at his home, 214 South Third street, Monday morning of a heart attack, were held at the Zion Lutheran church at 2 o’clock Thursday with the Rev. J.A. Urness conducting the rites. The body lay in state from 12:30 until time of the funeral and burial was in Clear Lake cemetery.

Pallbearers were all relatives and included Normie L. Larson, Clarence E. Larson, Harold Larson, L. O. Hanson, Sherwin Hanson and H. E. Freeman. Honorary pallbearers were John Masoner, William Loveless, J.M. Knutson, Mons Monson, Henry Brattrud, Fred Peck, T.O. Rye, Halvor Brunsvold, M.T. Rye and A.O. Rye.

Born at Waterville. Mrs. A.E. Folkmann and Mrs. H.L. Erickson, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. James McCormick, sang “Somebody Cares” and “Abide With Me” and Mrs. McCormick played a group of familiar hymns preceding and at the close of the services. Mrs. Henry Knutson, Mrs. Peter Anderson, Mrs. T.J. Kutchara and Mrs. Roy Peterson arranged the flowers.

Mr. Larson was born Jan. 30, 1856, at Waterville and died in Clear Lake on May 17, 1937. On May 26, 1884, he was united in marriage to Miss Theoline Hesla at Lansing and the family lived at Waterville until 1898 when Mr. and Mrs. Larson moved to a farm near Hanlontown.

In 1900 they moved to Hanlontown where Mr. Larson conducted a hardware store for 15 years after which he retired from active business and in 1931 they moved to their present home in Clear Lake.

Married 50 years. On May 26, 1934, Mr. and Mrs. Larson celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary at their home with all but one of their children, Mrs. Fred Reed, of Los Angeles, Cal., present. Mrs. H.E. Freeman gave an anniversary dinner at her home in the evening which was attended by a large family group and on Sunday following about 50 relatives held a picnic on the Larson lawn in honor of the event.

Besides his wife, Mr. Larson is survived by six children, Mrs. L.O. Hanson, Waterloo, Normie L. Larson and Mrs. H. E. Freeman, Clear Lake, Clarence E. Larson, Minneapolis, Mrs. Fred Reed, Los Angeles, Cal., and Miss Hazel Larson, Minneapolis.
