EDWIN PHILLIPS DIES AT HOME
LINCOLN TOWNSHIP PIONEER SUCCUMBS

CLEAR LAKE – Edwin H. Phillips, 77, died at his home in Lincoln Township Thursday afternoon following a heart attack. He was born in Lincoln Township Oct. 2, 1872, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Phillips, and, with the exception of a few years in the hardware business at Fertile, lived in that community all his life.

He was married to Miss Alta Logue, Fertile, at Mason City Sept. 15, 1898. The golden wedding was observed last fall. In Fertile he was associated with R.H. Goodell.

Besides his wife he is survived by 5 children, Stanley at Van Nuys, Cal.; Lynn and Vern, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Louis Cota, Carpenter, and Milton, on the home farm; a brother, Dr. A.B. Phillips, and a sister, Mrs. I.L. Paulson, Clear Lake, and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mrs. Warren H. Herreman and 5 brothers, Lambert, Lester and Dr. N.W. Phillips, Clarence, 12, and Delbert, 3.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at Ward’s funeral home. Burial will be in Lincoln Township cemetery.
