William Redington was born April 13, 1832 at Onondaga, New York to Herman Murray Redington and Christiana Auringer, the youngest of their three (living) children.

He lived with his family from 1836 to 1838 near Texas, New York.

Found in the 1840 census at Ira, Cayuga, New York: 6 people counted - 2 adults and 4 children? 1 age 5-9; 1 age 15-19; 2 - 10-14.

In 1842, the family moved west and settled at Boone, Illinois and before the 1856 census, the family moved west to settle at Falls, Cerro Gordo, Iowa.

William married Augusta A Brown (born May 1836 Michigan) in 1857 at Cerro Gordo, Iowa.

The couple had 7 children:
1.) George William (b 1858 Rock Falls, IA. Moved to Alberta, Canada, d 1938)

2.) Sarah Louise (b March 3, 1860 Rock Falls, Cerro Gordo, Iowa, d May 10, 1934 Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa, married March 12, 1878 at Plymouth: John Clement Lester (b 1858 - ) FAG#26597650

John and Sarah's Children: Archie Earl Lester (1878 - 1957); Bertha Lester (1881 - ); Ora A Lester (1884 - ); Edith Ann Lester (1887 - 1967); Ray Franklin Lester (1890 - 1973); Grace E Lester (1893 -); Claude M Lester (1897 - 1974); Daisy M Lester (1899 -); Sarah and John Lester lived at Rock Falls until 1888 when they moved to Mason City, IA

William Redington died on September 13, 1912 at Rock Falls, Cerro Gordo, Iowa and was buried at the Oakwood Cemetery, Plymouth, Cerro Gordo, Iowa.
