KEITH HAUGEN

Keith Earl Haugen, 74, of 217 Asbury Drive, Clear Lake, passed away from natural causes on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at home.

According to his wishes, his body has been cremated and no services will be held.

Keith was born May 20, 1939 in Fertile, Iowa, the son of Wallace and Idelle (Garlock) Haugen. He graduated from Clear Lake High School.

Following high school, Keith enlisted in the Navy. After he was honorably discharged, he worked on an oil platform in Alaska. He then sold motor homes for a short time.
Keith then worked at the Clear Lake Bakery for many years. After that, he worked for a locating service as a utilities locator until his retirement.

Keith married Cathy (Carrington) on New Year’s Eve 1994. They renewed their vows on March 2, 2012.

Keith enjoyed spending time with and cooking for his grandchildren. He enjoyed his frequent trips to the Village Store and any grocery store where he could find a bargain. He loved playing golf and was a member of the Veterans Memorial Golf Club. Keith also spent his
time refinishing furniture or working on his motor home, in which he had plans to travel next summer. His cats also held a special place in his heart.

Keith is survived by his children, Todd Haugen, Las Vegas, Nev., Traci and Sabrina Haugen; step-children, Travis (Theresa) Glidden, Garner, Iowa, Matt Glidden (fiancée Ally Monson), Clear Lake, and Mark (Lisa) Glidden, Clear Lake; grandchildren, Cody, Autumn, Tristin and Ty Glidden of Garner, Cassie and Callie Glidden, Clear Lake, Alec Glidden, Ames, Iowa, Shae Glidden, Mason City, and Rhys Glidden, Clear Lake; Sage, Ian, Cole, and
Sheridan (Dani), and Beau Haugen; great-grandchild, Jackson Glidden, Mason City; and brother, Myron (Pat) Haugen, Clear Lake.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy; parents; daughter, Selena Haugen; brothers, DuWayne, Mark, and Dale Haugen; and sister, Deloris Haugen.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
