MRS. WILLIAM (ALICE) SEEGER

Alice Margaret Seeger, 86, former Clear Lake resident , died on Friday, September 30 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Detroit Lakes, Minn.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon in Detroit Lakes and on Monday, Oct 3 at the Ward Van Slyke Funeral Home with Rev Dennis Ganz of Fertile Church of Christ officiating.

Interment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Alice Margaret Seeger was born at Clear Lake on July 23, 1891 the daughter of Martin and Andrea (Hetland) Schow.

She was married to William Seeger on March 19, 1911 at Clear Lake.

In 1916 they moved to Mahnomen, Minn. and in 1947 to Detroit Lakes. Mrs. Seeger had lived in Clear Lake with her brother Myron Schow from 1971 to 1977 and had returned to Detroit Lakes in August of this year because of health and to be near her family.

She is survived by two daughters, both of Detroit Lakes, Mrs. Robert (Janice) Caron, and Mrs. John (Carol) Hanson, two sons, Duane and Allen Seeger, Mahnomen, Minn., one brother, Myron Schow, Clear Lake, now of Detroit Lakes and 21 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Phillip, who was killed during WWII in France, four brothers and two sisters. There were also two other sons, Richard and Jewell Edward Seeger.

Pallbearers were Clay Honeck, Ray Cooper, Roger Gaulke, Ralph Larsen, Armin Passehl and Jack Enabnit.
