LULU M. SECOR

Lulu M. Secor, formerly of Clear Lake, died at the age of 101 years at the IOOF Home, Mason City. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and her husband Maurice V. Secor, deceased, was a member of the IOOF and Patriarch Militants for nearly 68 years. She will be buried at Clear Lake Cemetery with her husband. Funeral arrangements are being made by Major Erickson's Funeral Home. Services are tentatively set for Wednesday, Dec. 20 if relatives can arrive in time. Call Major Erickson Funeral Home for correct time and date.

Secor was the oldest daughter of Ed Bates and Cora Bates, deceased, one of the first settlers of Clear Lake, who arrived by covered wagon from New York state to settle here. They built a home where the Clear Lake Bakery garage property is now located. This home was moved seven blocks away when the property was sold to Clear Lake Bakery. They raised 11 children in this home.

She is survived by her sisters, Orpha Holub of Mason City and Joy Miller of Clear Lake; a daughter, Kathryn Grippen of Mason City; two sons, Donald L. Secor of Floyds Knob, Ind., and Gregory E. Secor of Clear Lake; four grandsons, James Crago, Gross Pointe, Mich., Tom Crago of Calif., Robert Crago of Denver, Colo., Dennis Secor of Minneapolis, Minn.; and a granddaughter, Marjorie (Grippen) Cerny of Fla.

Transcriber's Note - Lulu M. Secor was born November 22, 1877, died December 17, 1978 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
