PLAN RITES FOR MRS. W. WATTS
SERVICES AT WARD’S THURSDAY, 2 P.M.

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Mrs. William (Phoebe Pence) Watts, 85, 809 Main avenue, who died Tuesday afternoon at the Bethany Nursing home after a few weeks illness, will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at Ward’s funeral home with the Rev. Guy W. Carrell, pastor of the Christian church, conducting the rites. Burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery.

Mrs. Watts was born to Allen and Caroline Pence, Sept. 15, 1864, in Lincoln township, Cerro Gordo county, where she lived her entire life with the exception of 2 years in Lyon county. March 21, 1890, she was married to Mr. Watts, who preceded her in death in 1939. To this union were born 2 children, Mrs. Victor (Venice) Lauitzen, who died in 1932 and a son, Herbert, at home.

Besides her son Mrs. Watts is survived by a grandson, Roger Watts; a granddaughter, Mrs. Victor White, all of Des Moines; 3 sisters, Mrs. Orren Winter, Mason City, and Mmes. George Dempsy and Carrie Wier, Los Angeles, Cal., and one brother, Wallace Pence, Allegan, Mich., as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends. Mrs. Watts was a life-long member of the Christian church.

Transcriber’s Note – Phoebe Watts was born September 15, 1864, died June 13, 1950 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section 1 Row 4.
