CLEAR LAKE – Ben Skadeland, 83, 1104 Main Ave., retired farmer, died Sunday morning in a local nursing home where he had been cared for several months. He had been in ill health several years.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church with Dr. John DeLong officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. The Ward Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bernhart Skadeland was born Jan. 4, 1882, in Lake Township, the son of Ole and Susie (Narveson) Skadeland. He attended Clear Lake schools and later farmed.

He was married to Anna Amelia Olson April 22, 1908 at Clear Lake. They rented a farm several years then purchased one in 1916 south of Clear Lake. After the death of his wife in 1956, he sold the farm in 1958, moving to town. He had been a member of the Methodist Church more than 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and one sister. Pallbearers selected are Carroll Meyers, C.N. Prestholt, Miles Borton, James H Ransom, Russell Walls and Donald Goranson.

Mrs. Harry Mason is organist and Mrs. L.M. Treloar, soloist.
