LESTER R. DAWSON

Funeral services for Lester R. Dawson, 85, formerly of Clear Lake, were held Tuesday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel. The Rev. George Johnson of the Riverside Baptist Church in Mason City officiated. Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Dawson died Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Americana Nursing Home in Mason City of natural causes. Memorials may be given to the Lester R. Dawson Memorial Fund.

Mr. Dawson was born May 16, 1904, at Clear Lake to Fred and Dora (Hayes) Dawson. He attended rural Ventura schools and helped his father farm. When his parents moved to town, he became a brick layer, retiring in 1960. After retirement he took on odd jobs to keep himself busy.

He attended the Riverside Baptist Church in Mason City.

Survivors include one sister, Helen Fiedler, Mason City and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
