CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. John (Esther V.) Anderson, 88, of 909 1st Ave. S., Clear Lake, died Wednesday (Aug. 28, 1985) at a Clear Lake nursing home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th, Clear Lake. The Rev. Robert Rod, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation is from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Patterson James Funeral Chapel, 123 2nd SE, Mason City, and at the church Saturday prior to services.

The family requests memorials be given to Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake.

She was born Aug. 19, 1897, in rural Garner, to Edward and Sophia (Anderson) Olson.

She married John G. Anderson on Feb. 16, 1916, in rural Garner, where they farmed until 1945. Following retirement they moved to Ventura where they lived until Mr. Anderson’s death in 1976. Mrs. Anderson moved to Clear Lake in 1976.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, and the R.H. Club, Ventura.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Phyllis) Jensen, Clear Lake, and Mrs. Everett (Lois) Hanson, Mason City,; four sons, Carroll D.; Robert “Bing”., and M.E. “Eddie”, all of Clear Lake and Larry, Spencer, 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
