RUTH NONA RASMUSSEN ANDERSEN

Ruth Nona Andersen died April 13 at a Mason City hospital where she had been a patient since March 30.

Mrs. Andersen, formerly of 800 North 13th Street, Clear Lake, was born to Carl Rasmus and Kirstine (Petersen) Rasmussen in Clear Lake on July 26, 1897. When she was 1 ½ she and her parents and brother, Arnold went to Denmark, where she was educated. In 1911 the family returned to Clear Lake. She remained with her parents until their deaths in 1934 and 1940.

On May 19, 1940 she was united in marriage to Martin C. Andersen at Mason City. They made their home in Clear Lake.

Since April 1976, Mrs. Andersen has lived at the IOOF Home in Mason City. She was a member of Tina Rebekah Lodge of Clear Lake for over 50 years. She was an honorary member of the Naomi Circle of the Zion Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Arnold. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mabel Rasmussen, Clear Lake; a niece, Evelyn, Mrs. Kenneth Gutterman, Mason City; two grand nieces, Kay and Kim Gutterman; and several cousins.

Memorial services were held in the IOOF Home for Mrs. Andersen. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 17 at the Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel. Pallbearers were Edwin Estergard, Charles Jorgenson, Russell Walls, Chris Caspersen, Robert Bales and Alan Wille.

Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
