FUNERAL RITES HELD FRIDAY FOR MRS. M. OLSON

Funeral services for Mrs. Matt Olson, 83, were held Friday, Feb. 12, at the Ward Funeral Home. Mrs. Olson died Feb. 10 at a Clear Lake nursing home following an illness of several weeks. She lived at 605 S. 8th St.

The Rev. Richard Ellingson of Zion Lutheran Church officiated. Mrs. Arnold Bostrom sang, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Mason at the organ. Pallbearers were Gordon Nelson, Glenn Westover, Floyd Kimball, Lyle Stunkard, and Keith Raw and A.N. Johnson. Burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Emma Olson was born March 18, 1881, on a farm south of Clear Lake, the daughter of John and Christina Nelson. Following her graduation from Clear Lake High School, she was married to Matt Olson.

They operated a grocery store in Clear Lake for a number of years, and he served as postmaster at Clear Lake from the late twenties to 1933.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Mrs. Earl (Evonne) Nesbitt, N. Redondo Beach, Calif., and Richard Olson, Duarte, Calif. There are several nieces and nephews. Neither of the grandchildren were able to attend the services.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Max, in 1960; and three brothers, Sever, Andrew and Norman Nelson.
