H. NELSON, 69, IS FOUND DEAD
DIES IN WORKSHOP; FUNERAL TUESDAY

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Herbert C. Nelson, 69, who was found dead in the workshop at his home, 516 S. 4th, about noon Saturday, will be held at Ward’s funeral home Tuesday at 2 o’clock. The Rev. Ruben Mostrom, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church the rites and burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery.

Mr. Nelson was last seen alive about 9 o’clock Saturday morning. He had been suffering from a heart ailment for some time. Acting coroner, Roward Remley, Mason City was called.

Mr. Nelson was born at Dypvag, Norway, Feb. 22, 1877. He came to America in 1892 and settled in Door county, Wis. He came to Clear Lake in 1916 and had resided here since. He was married May 20, 1916, to Miss Mary Nelson, who died Feb. 13, 1943. They had no children. Mr. Nelson was a carpenter by trade and had worked in this community the past 30 years.

For the past 2 ½ years a nephew, Peter Johnson, and his wife had made their home with Mr. Nelson who was the last survivor of a family of 6. Besides Mr. Johnson, Mr. Hanson is survived by the following nephews and nieces; Arthur, Oscar and Albin Ohman, Door county, Wis.; Elsie C. Root, Green Bay, Wis.; and Mrs. Charles C. Brems and the Misses Hattie and Agnes Nelson, Chicago.
