HOLD HARRY V. BLY FUNERAL AT CHURCH

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Harry V. Bly, 80, 504 6th street, were held Monday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran church with the Rev. Ruben Mostrom officiating. Burial was in Clear Lake cemetery. Miss Lola Kimball sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Thou Wilt Keep Him,” accompanied by Mrs. Irvin Morgan.

Mr. Bly was born at Hardanger, Norway, on Feb. 24, 1867. At the age of 17 he emigrated to the United States, going first to Illinois and then to Iowa. He entered general merchandising business in Clear Lake with Ed Ernston as a partner. Mr. Bly was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Zion Lutheran church.

He was married to Petra M. Schonhood on June 7, 1900, the daughter of the Rev. O.C. Schoonhood. The family moved to Benson, Minn., in 1905 and later to Minneapolis. In 1932 Mr. and Mrs. Bly returned to Clear Lake to make their home.

Mr. Bly was in failing health for several years and died Thursday at the Bethany Nursing Home. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. S.I. Sandbo, and 2 grandchildren, Marilyn and John Sandbo, Minneapolis, 1 sister, Mrs. Martha Questad, Baltic, S. Dak., and 2 brothers, John Bly, Hancock, Minn., and Peter Bly, Cottonwood, Minn. Attending the services from away were the daughter, Mrs. Sandbo, and her family; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bly, Cottonwood, Minn., and William O. Bly, Wood Lake, Minn.

Pallbearers were Hans Henriksen, H. L. Erickson, Albert Christenson and J. B. Osnes. Ward’s funeral home was in charge.
