CLAUS HANSEN BURIED AT LAKE
AGED FARMER’S RITES ARE HELD AT CHURCH

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Claus L. Hansen, 71, who died at his home north of Clear Lake Friday of a heart attack, were held at the residence and at Zion Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Elmer Valen, Norway, conducted the rites and burial was in Clear Lake cemetery.

Mrs. A. E. Folkmann, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Irving R. Morgan, sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “The City Four Square.” Mmes. Leo Swanson and Frank Wreghitt arranged the flowers. Pallbearers were Chris Larsen, Hans Henriksen, Leo Swanson, Melvin Jacobson, William Schultz and Walter Jensen.

Mr. Hansen was born in Ordrup, Shelland, Denmark, June 30, 1975, and came to Clear Lake March 15, 1896. He was married to Miss Emma Katherine Hansen March 15, 1905. With the exception of 6 years spent in Minnesota, they made Clear Lake their home. Mrs. Hansen died Dec. 13, 1938. Mr. Hansen was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. For many years he was an active member of the Odd Fellows lodge.

Besides his wife, Mr. Hansen was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a brother, Oluf T. Hansen. Surviving are 2 sons, Irving at home, and Elmer, Clear Lake; a daughter, Mrs. A. E. (Edna) Peterson, St. Ansgar; 9 grandchildren; a brother, James P. Hansen, Clear Lake, and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Kettlesen, in Denmark.

Attending the funeral from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Kimball, and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kuhn, Clear Lake, Wis., and A. C. Gustafson, Des Moines
