CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Mrs. W.H. (Ethel) Elling, 85, of Route 1, Clear Lake, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. She died Monday (Oct. 24, 1983) at a Mason City hospital.

The Rev. Kenneth Ubbelohde of the First Congregational Church, Clear Lake, will officiate. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family requests memorials be made to the Ethel Elling Memorial Fund.

Born in 1898 in Parkersburg, Mrs. Elling was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Krieder. In 1918 she married William H. Elling in Waterloo. They lived in Waverly for 10 years and moved to the Hampton area where they farmed for 19 years. They later moved to Clear Lake. Mrs. Elling was a member of the First Congregational Church, Clear Lake, Rosella Rebekah Lodge and Clear Lake Senior Citizens. She was a 50-year honorary member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include one son, Rex Elling, Hampton, two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
