MRS. DAWSON DIES AT HOME
FUNERAL AT CHURCH SATURDAY, 2 P.M.

CLEAR LAKE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Dawson, 76, who died at her home, 116 East State street, Thursday evening following an extended illness, will be held at the Methodist church at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Thomas B. Collins, pastor will conduct the rites and burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery. Ward’s Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Dawson had been ill a year and confined to the house since last August. She was bedfast two weeks.

Eudora Hayes was born in DeKalb county, Ill., Nov. 20, 1866, the daughter of George and Helen Hayes. When a young girl she moved with her parents to Clear Lake, living a short time in town before moving to a farm north of the city.

On Dec. 19, 1898, she was married to Mr. Dawson at the Congregational parsonage in Mason City. The couple lived on farms near Clear Lake for many years, moving to town nine years ago and to their present home in 1936.

Five children were born the Mr. and Mrs. Dawson. Two, Floyd and Esther, died in infancy. The others are Lester and Miss Susie, at home, and Mrs. Warren Fiedler, Grant township.

Besides her husband and children Mrs. Dawson is survived by three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ruben Fryer, Clear Lake; three brothers, Harvey Hayes, Clear Lake; Herbert Hayes, Hancock, Minn., and Harry Hayes, Fargo, N.Dak., and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dawson was a member of the Methodist Church.
