LEROY BARKHURST

Funeral services for LeRoy G. Barkhurst, 45, of Oklahoma City, and formerly of Clear Lake, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake.

Mr. Barkhurst died Saturday (Dec. 21, 1985) in Oklahoma City.

The Rev. Kermit Roisen of Zion Lutheran Church officiated and burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Barkhurst was born Aug. 7, 1940, in Hampton, to Granville and Louise (Jorgensen). He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1959 and was a truck driver, living for the past few years in El Paso, Texas, then Oklahoma City.

He was a member of Sooner Baptist Church, Midwest City, Okla., and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake.

Survivors include a son, LeRoy Jr., Oklahoma City; three daughters, Rosemary Barkhurst, Mrs. Susan Engel and Mrs. Laurie Duncan, all of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, and four brothers, Everett, Park Forest, Ill., Vincent, Ventura; Varian, Clear Lake; and Stanley, Salinas, Calif.

Honorary pallbearers were Stanley Barkhurst, Varian Barkhurst, Joe Duncan, and Bill Hamilton. Active pallbearers were Vincent Barkhurst, Everett Barkhurst, LeRoy Barkhurst Jr., Tom Engel, Lloyd Knundson, and David Vest weber.
