C. P. BECKETT DIES AT HOME
CLEAR LAKE BARBER STRICKEN TUESDAY WITH HEART AILMENT

CLEAR LAKE – Heart illness took the life of Clarence P. Beckett, 67, Tuesday morning at his home on North Third street. He had been ill since Friday.

Operator of a barber shop under the Clear Lake Bank and Trust company for many years, Mr. Beckett moved to Clear Lake from Spencer in 1925. He was born May 27, 1872 at Boone and married Daisy Jackson in 1904.

Mr. Beckett is survived by his wife and two sons, Harold and Wayne, all living in Clear Lake.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 o’clock at the W. H. Ward funeral home. The Rev. J. B. Calhoun is to conduct the service. Burial will be in the Clear Lake cemetery.

Clear Lake barbers, who had planned to remain open Thanksgiving morning, will be closed all day Thursday and will attend the rites.
