Mark Nissen, 89, died Thursday morning at the IOOF Home. He had lived at the home since last Nov. 4. Mr. Nissen was born March 18, 1870, in Denmark.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. C. C. Hollingworth, Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by two wives and his parents.
Mr. Nissen joined Lodge 665 at Garrison in 1905. For 56 years he was employed by the State College for the Blind at Vinton. He retired in 1950.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday at the IOOF Chapel. Tom Norris will officiate. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home is in charge.

Funeral services for Mark Nissen, 89, who died Thursday at the IOOF Home, were held Saturday afternoon at the IOOF Chapel, Tom Norris officiated.
Robert Gobeli and Gene Hendrickson sang a duet. Bethina Waterman was pianist. IOOF services ere conducted with Charles Cornwell, Chaplain, and Edwin Beneke, noble grand.
Pallbearers were Ralph Sperry, William Easley, Arthur Geissmar and Everett Driskill. Burial was in the IOOF cemtery. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home was in charge.
