Florence Joyce dies at 84 in local hospital

Florence Joyce, 84, died Wednesday evening at a Mason City hospital. She had lived at the IOOF Home since June 18, 1957, when she came here from Pleasantville.

Mrs. Joyce was born March 29, 1875, at Pleasantville, daughter of Charles and Catherine (Fisher) Thornbury. She was married to Roger A. Joyce April 13, 1898. He preceded her in death July 23, 1952.

She is survived by two sisters. Mrs. Joyce joined the Rebekah Lodge in 1902 and transferred to Marion Rebekah Lodge 70, Knoxville.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home is in charge.
