Mrs. F. G. Carlson, 81, succumbs

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon for Mrs. Frank G. (Mary) Carlson, 81, who died Friday evening at the Hotel Hanford, where she lived with her husband.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Major Memorial Chapel with Dr. George Truman Carl officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Carlson had lived in Mason City since 1913 when she and her husband, Dr. Frank G. Carlson, moved from Thornton. She was born at Iowa City May 15, 1878, a daughter of Albert and Margaret Atwater. She was married Jan. 25, 1905, at Iowa City and moved to Thornton with her husband in the same year.

Survivors include her husband and a son, Col. Walter A. Calson, Maxwell AFB, Ala. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. C. C. Schrader, New Orleans, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gretchen C. Girton, two brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Carlton was a member of the First Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and Mason City Women's Club and was active in the Tuckabaehee class of the First Methodist Church.
