V. Chavez, 76, Succombs at Hospital

Vincente Chavez, 76, 805 Harrison S. W., retired employe (sic) of Jacob E. Decker and Sons, died Sunday at a Mason City hospital. He had lived in this community 45 years.

Mr. Chavez was born April 5, 1880, in Guanajuato, Mexico. Surviving are his wife, Catalina (Solorzane); three sons, Joseph, St. Paul, and George and Carlos, Mason City; 21 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Felix.

Mr. Chavez was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. P. F. Malone, V.F., will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Patterson - James Chapel until the time of services.
