Funeral services for Charles Brink, 72, Rapid City, S.D., who died suddenly Oct. 10, were held Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church, Swaledale. The Rev. Herman Crawford officiated.
Mr. Brink was born July 1, 1883, Genoa, Ill., the son of Daniel and Algemora (Parks) Brink. He attended Toland's Business School, now the Hamilton School of Commerce in Mason City, before he started his railroad career with the Chicago & North Western Railway in Mason City.
Surviving are three brothers,W F. Brink, Mankato, Minn.; I. E Brink, Chico, Calif.; and Jasper C.; and two sisters Della Mae Eddy, Rockwell, and Mrs. G. A, (Mary) Eddy, Swaledale.
He had lived in Swaledale, Iowa for twenty years before moving to Rapid City, South Dakota.
Mrs. Herman Crawford was the pianist for the services. George Ingham and Milo Hoskins were ushers. Mrs. D. Casper and Mrs. Milo Hoskins were in charge of flowers.
Pallbearers were Ed Maroney, Henry Caspers, Sinke Peters, Guy Crapser (Casper?), Monroe Roucy and Roscoe Carr. Burial was at Pleasant Valley Cemetery south of Swaledale.
Car escorts were R. J. Carr, H. D. Casper, M. W. Ames. The Patterson - James Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
