Mrs. Fred Bernhardt rites set

Mrs. Fred (Mary) Bernhardt, 73, died Saturday at her home, 230 5th NE. She had lived in Mason City five years, but had lived in the Plymouth vicinity 22 years preceding her moving to Mason City.

Mrs. Bernhardt was born July 22, 1887, in Russia. She came to the United States June 30, 1913, and became a citizen of the United States. She lived on a farm near Plymouth until moving to Mason City in 1956.

She was married to Fred Bernhardt Dec. 11, 1907, in Russia. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Herman (Emma) Wolff, Osage; Mrs. Harold (Lydia) Sellon, Nora Springs; and Mrs. C. B. (Ruth) Christiansen, Manly.

Four sons, Victor, Henry and Edward of Plymouth and Fred Jr., Rockwell, and 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, a brother and a sister.

Mrs. Bernhardt was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The Rev. C. A. Hinz, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemtery. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home is in charge.
